Please provide a list of players on your squad who have a * next to their name when they clearly should NOT be a rookie.
Thank you!

For the Kings' part:
Dean Kennedy played 55 games in 1982-83 Brian Wilks played 43 games in 1985-86

Oilers are all good. Not like we have any regular rookies on pro roster anyways.

Sorry, but the Rangers just don't care. If you don't think Mike Vernon is rookie of the year, whether he was actually a rookie or not, then don't vote him for the award.
For those that do seem to care though
He is.
And he's the only worthwhile rookie on my team, so I stand by what I said.

It only started as a joke that I wanted Luc Robitaille to be Rookie Scoring Leader, and he'd never catch Yzerman. Then the Whalers agreed that it might be one little thing GMs could help the Commish with. Second...Mike Vernon would be considered a rookie for this season because he hadn't appeared in 25 games yet, nor had he appeared in at least 6 games in each of any two previous seasons. Third...Vernon would be an excellent vote for Rookie of the Year. He has great numbers, but he'll never catch Robitaille in scoring.

Since the Rangers don't care:
Only Jiri Hrdna might not be considered a Rookie amongst those tagged on the Rangers' roster.
Current NHL guidelines state a player over the age of 26 will not be considered a Rookie regardless of how many or how few games he has played in the NHL. I'm not sure what the 1986 NHL rules were in that regard as I believe the point was discussed after the Russian Invasion where all those skilled veterans came and made late NHL debuts.
In truth, Hrdna didn't play in the league until 1987-88 anyway, at which point he was 30.

Not taking it personally, I just think it's silly.

Well, Vernon is not a rookie. Rules are rules. Help out the commish and just be honest with your non rookies.

I will say I do believe Vernon would be considered a Rookie by current NHL rules, but I don't know what the guidelines were in 1986.

we are in season 86-87. Stats used for players are from 85-86 1985-86 Calgary Flames NHL 18 www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=5568 That is games played. He is not a rookie. I would figure you of all people would know this, you were like the retro hockey guy.

"Rookie Qualifications To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie." From: www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26377That's what I'm going by. What I'm seeing in his career stats is: 1982-83 - 2 games 1983-84 - 1 game 1985-86 - 18 games 1986-87 season that we are playing means he hasn't accumulated 25 games and also didn't have two seasons of at least 6 games. Am I wrong?

LMAO due to the awesome rules page that is buried in a diff category. Mike Vernon is not a Rookie. This is not NHL rules, as this is not the NHL. I actually thought about that after i last posted. Looked at the rules page for EHL and You must play 25 NHL games to be a rookie. LOL i know it is a typo and it looks like Vernon under the non typo rules should be a rookie. My bad for using NHL rules. Sim is way diff.
