Can you give a rough estimate of what lets say hypothetically a Mike Modano, or a Nick Lidstrom would be created as? Reason I ask is that way it gives a better estimate of value to draft picks. If new draftees can be created as a 73 or 74 then a 1st is worth a kings ransom, however if even with an illustrious career, new draftees are created in the mid 60's to upper 60's range at max, maybe the occasional 70OV max... then that brings the value of a 1st rounder back down to earth. Sorry for the inconvienance, but we're starting to see more draft picks shift hands and as a trade committee member I need to make sure people aren't putting a colt .45 to their temple.

The top talents with illustrious careers will probably end up in the 71 to 73 range with occasional exceptions, with the majority of the rest of the pack falling below that in the mid to high 60s.
In 87, you'd be looking at guys like Turgeon, Sakic, maybe Theo Fleury, LeClair and Shanahan off the top of my head in that group, though it would all be looked through in detail before then.
