Pretty simple trade here, we are giving up a solid chunk of our squad for one player, but we're hoping this one player can help out the rest of the younger ones. To EDM: Dave Babych, Kevin Dineen, Stewart Gavin(signed to 3 year extension), Ray Ferraro To HFD: Wayne Gretzky We wish the best of luck to Babych, Dineen, Gavs and Chicken Parm. The signed for 3 years is being done by the Whalers and i think he has already contacted the party needed to get this done before the deal is processed.
This is correct, we really wanted to add depth to the team and Mark Messier will be a great leader and #1 center. Ray (Chicken Parm) Ferraro will be holding down the #2 spot. Babych was also long sought after to strengthen the top 4 D core. Dineen and Gavin will be depth guys at this point, but should have a bright future here. Took a bit of time for me to pull the trigger, and i want to thank Rob for being patient.

While it is crazy to see Gretzky get traded i think both GM's are probably 2 of the smartest guys on the planet aside from Sheldon Cooper obviously.

I didn't know we could negotiate contract extensions mid-season. I thought we could only negotiate with our pending free agents after the trade deadline.

I'll deal with RFAs during the season and just store the information in an excel sheet, but I'm not touching UFAs until much closer to the end of the year.
As for Jim's attempted approval of his own deal, well, that's obviously voided.
